1. What does Bijoux mean?
When I started making jewelry, I had no idea what to name my brand. With help from my grandpa, Chuck (who used to live near the French Quarter in New Orleans), we decided on using the name "Bijoux", which roughly translates from French to "jewels". Bijoux is a family as much as it is a brand, and I can't thank you enough for loving Bijoux as much as I do!
2. What does "gold-filled" mean?
When a piece of jewelry is gold filled, it means that the base metal is coated with 100x more gold alloy than gold plated metals. Gold filled is the best quality & most budget friendly alternative to solid gold. It can last a lifetime if taken care of properly.
3. How long will it take to ship my item?
Most Bijoux items are made-to-order. This means that I am making your new Bijoux just for you! I will make from scratch, package, and ship your Bijoux within 5-10 business days after you place your order. All orders are shipped via USPS first class shipping. This typically takes 3-7 business days, depending on where you are located in the USA. There may be delays outside my control.
4. Do your rings tarnish?
Our wire wrapped rings are made from aluminum, which are water and tarnish resistant.
Our sterling silver and gold filled pieces will last as long as you take care of them. All fine metals discolor over time (think: your grandma’s silver tray in that hutch that has to be polished regularly). We suggest wearing them as frequently as possible, as the oils in your skin actually help prevent tarnishing!
Please be mindful that any personal skin allergies may react differently to the metal used to make this jewelry. All skin reacts differently. We always suggest removing all jewelry before showering, swimming, or working out. If you do wear them in the water, be sure to wipe them down with one of our Bijoux polishing cloths that is including complimentary in each order containing gold filled or sterling pieces.
5. How do I find out my ring size?
So glad you asked! We actually offer a ring sizer tool for only $3, + $1 shipping. This is the perfect tool to use to find out your ring size before ordering your rings! You can find it here.
